We got our “Cat fix” when we visited @cat_cafe_on_whyte in Edmonton. What better way to breeze through an hour than to sip a nice coffee and make some 14 cats purr and play! 🐈‍⬛

There were some simple cafe rules to follow such as:
- Don’t wake a sleeping cat

- Don’t chase the cats
- Please take off your shoes! 👟

Our trip to Edmonton Alberta has been full of expl Our trip to Edmonton Alberta has been full of exploration! We have never been here as a family and it has been a long time since either Jenni or I have seen the city so, everything is “new” to us again.

To discover the downtown we took part in a mystery scavenger hunt that had us explore the area and visit many of the local art installations and landmarks while trying to solve a murder mystery.

Admittedly, we didn’t love the tour game as much as we thought we would, it was still a great way to spend an afternoon.

What struck us hard was the frequency of ambulances running through town. As one of the two major city centres in the province, you’d expect this to be a central spot for the homeless and others in need. What we didn’t anticipate was the number of people in desperate need due to opiates and the reason paramedics were zipping all around the core. We witnessed support workers out on the street helping people and sadly, numerous people in desperate need.

This lead us to some pretty deep discussions with our teenager about how and what we need to do as people and society. 🙁

    January 7, 2020 /

If you’re looking for a place to camp near Toronto, we highly recommend the campground at Bronte Creek Provincial Park.  Camping at Bronte Creek is perfect for visiting the Greater Toronto Area. The city is just a short train ride away, eliminating the hassle (and expense) of parking in Toronto. In the other direction, Niagara Falls and the Niagara wine region are less than an hour away. We have so many great things to say about Bronte that we’re going to split this review into two parts. In this first part, we’ll talk about the Bronte Creek campground. Read on to learn more or jump to our campground summary.  Bronte…
