Our Approach
Welcome!
We’re Colin and Jen, the camping and outdoors-lovers behind Tin Can Cottage.
We have decades of experience with all types of camping, in all seasons. From backwoods solo canoe trips to large group camps to RV resort getaways.
These days, most of our family camping takes place in our 2011 Evergreen 32MKS Travel Trailer, which we affectionately call our “tin can cottage.”
While others enjoy the cottage life, we prefer our retreat on wheels, as it gives us the freedom to explore our beautiful country, and we never need to mow the lawn!

Chief Planner and Archivist
Jen came to camping a little later in life, but has developed her own set of skills, particularly when it comes to planning, packing and camp cooking.
Jen is the author of the Tin Can Cottage blog, documenting the ups and downs of RV life.
Colin
Scouter Colin The Tin Can Cottage Captain
Colin has camped his entire life. As an active leader and Group Commissioner with Scouts Canada, he not only spends at least half his weekends camping (year round!) but has also shared his passion and knowledge with hundreds of youth and leaders along the way.
Our home away from home can be yours, too!
